Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP)
Unbeatable multi-core value with AMD Phenom II processors. They deliver The Ultimate Visual Experience for high definition entertainment, advanced multitasking performance, and power-saving innovations for smaller, cooler machines that are energy efficient.

If you want to pay for a high end performance CPU, this is simply the best deal. So much bang for the bucks! Overclocked to 3,5Ghz on the stock heatsink, on a mainstream gigabyte 790x board. Especially for gaming , i'd recommand this for anyone going on a new build.

Upgraded from an Athlon X2 7750BE - which was a great processor, but with the upgrade I simply cannot believe the performance increase with this Phenom II processor! I have it overclocked to 3.6ghz (can go higher, but this is enough for me), and everything now is really, noticeably faster. Doesn't run hot, though certainly it's hotter than the 7750BE but even with a decent air cooling setup it's way within a safe, comfortable temperature range. Apps faster, games way faster, great processor! Cheers.

On the GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P with 8GB of DDR2 800 Patriot RAM i got this overclocked to 3.45Ghz at 1.375v on stock cooling. Its prime95 stable (3hrs). 29C idle and 63C full load. Stock cooler is amazing on this, copper heat pipes. Cool N Quiet is working even while overclocked, as long as you don't overclock with the multiplier (use the Bus). wPrime 32M Benchmark time is 10.8s, tried benching with CnQ off and got same times. I draw 11watts of power on idle while overclocked, that's less than my monitor on standby! I can keep temps safe under full load up to 1.45v, beyond that need better cooling, but max voltage is 1.5v anyway so its not worth it. I'm seeing i7s (stock) with 32M wprime times of over 10 seconds, so bascially im very close if not AT i7 performance. Even at 4ghz i7 times are only down to 8s. You get MORE than you pay for with this CPU, in my opinion. Paired with my 4870 1GB, i max everything with AA on.
