The Wireless-G WRT54GL Broadband Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which connects both screaming fast Wireless-G (IEEE 802.11g at 54 Mbps) and Wireless-B (IEEE 802.11b at 11 Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connects wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as needed. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and the whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

    Now much to say, really, except that it works great. I have my PC connected, and use the laptop wirelessly (of course) and it's great.

    This router combines with dd-wrt or tomato firmware can't be beaten at this price. The options in these firmwares offer a lot more than the standard one.

    Personally, I prefer the tomato firmware which offer the best balance of option/performance. Dd-wrt firmware can be use but expect your router to be a little less responsive.

    WARNING: You should know flashing a router with these firmwares are not for beginners. Keep in mind you can brick your router easily with a bad flashing and it can be hard to recover.

    Running DD-WRT on a WRT54GL is BEST! Well at least it's worked for me. I have one of these (with a gig micro sd card also %3Cgrin%3E) running v23 servicing a 54g v5, same v23. I can get wireless service off both routers, serving the whole house, and not a wire connecting them. I would definitely buy another. In fact, I think I just might.

    Sales & Customer Satisfaction Policy
