i expected the drive to get loud when i was pushing as many req. as i was so it was no biggie. i sleep comfortably with the comp in the same room. gb/$ value is great and the performance is amazing.

Good drive but the only problem I had was with the noise. I have a 640 GB Blue drive and had no issues with the noise but this one was quite noticeable and I could hear it seeking all the time. I had to use WinAAM to enable the acoustic management setting on the drive's firmware to lower the db level. Drive is nice and quiet now and performance is still quite excellent.

I only had to enable the acoustic management setting once, and the drive remembers it. I switched over to ahci afterwards and the setting stays but WinAAM doesn't detect any drives if ahci is enabled, so if the noise is bothering you, try a different tool to access the firmware or use WinAAM before enabling ahci.

Warranty length may vary per specific model. Western Digital Raptor and Caviar RE series enterprise drives are covered by a 5 year warranty. Caviar and Caviar SE desktop drives are covered by a 3 year warranty for OEM drives, and a 1 year warranty for Retail

Sales & Customer Satisfaction Policy

Merchandise sold by DirectCanada.com carries a limited 15-day customer satisfaction policy and a limited 30-day DOA (dead-on-arrival) policy, from the original invoice date, and is subject to the following terms and conditions:

ALL merchandise requires an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) issued by DirectCanada.com for return. RMA numbers are valid for 7-days with a small leeway for shipping times.
