Let me brood on the negative aspects of the heatsink, because it's positive performance is known; it performs well. However, it's biggest problem is installation. The push pin design is useless. While installing my optical drive, this headsink physically fell off! I was lucky to not have installed my video card, or else this massive heatsink would have destroyed it, and the motherboard as well.

If you are a new builder, DO NOT RELY ON PUSH PINS! Invest in a bolt thru kit, it can honestly save your investment from total destruction.

I had to go to tigerdirect to get the pushpins installed. They were kind enough to do it for free. It's tedious, the expert employee had to use various tools to get the push pins through. For a toolless design, this is not acceptable.

Save yourself the agony of dealing with push pins - buy a bolt thru kit.


Otherwise, the heatsink itself is great.

Great cooling performance. This really should come with the Crossbow backing plate for LGA775, I wouldn't want to install this with just the push-pins. Make sure you order the backing plate separately, or get the Dark Knight version that includes the plate.

I overclock my CPU it works like a charm with it! The cooler does an incredible job at cooling my CPU.
